Quite a change of scenery at the heart of the Festival between the Pyramid and John Peel – a chance to escape, wander through the woodland or relax on a log bench at the Wood café. A tranquil and theatrical retreat by day and enchanted dreamland at night, kicking-off with the midnight fire ceremony every night at the fire circle in the big clearing. Return to the Trees you will!
The ship-like tree platform high up in the big ash tree overlooks the Tor and the John Peel Stage and is named after Michael’s shipping voyages as a young man to East Africa. A bridge links to a viewing platform over Peetas Pond via a 50m aerial walkway through the tree canopy. Below here and around the pond there will be a more easily accessible-to-all platform to view all the magical illuminations.
